The Storm Before the Calm

No, I said it right. I am working on Vic's family history again, after some time off for ... whatever reason. Creativeness, I guess. Christmas cards, envelopes, journals, Valentine's cards... Anyway, I was filing paperwork in my hard plastic filing crates. They are getting pretty full and my cuticles have been bleeding from it all. I was filing away and Vic came in. I told him I need real filing cabinets. I have 9 of those crates full of family history from my side of the family as well as his side, and a few more banker boxes of related paperwork, like different cities, areas, groups of people and where they settled, forms. You get the picture. I went directly to craigslist and typed in "for sale, general." Five ads down I found an ad for 5-drawer filing cabinets! There were four available, at $50 each. Long story short, I now have two 5-drawer filing cabinets in my craft room/office.  We went to get them, and the guy said we could have both for $80. He said his wife is glad to get more room in the garage. 

In order to fit those in, we had to empty some shelves, and I must say it is standing room only and watch out or you'll fall because all the "stuff" got stacked (more like piled) and there is just a trail to get around in the room. I look forward to organizing and purging. I had to order the metal racks to put inside the drawers to hang the hanging file folders, but they will arrive tomorrow. And I need more of the plastic shoeboxes. Dollar Tree, here we come.

The dogwood tree I can see from my writing table is about to bloom; I can't wait! All around town the flowering trees are in bloom and it is just beautiful. Spring is magical. The cemeteries have flowers everywhere; we drive by a few when we are out and about.
